Varicose Veins
Say Goodbye to Varicose Veins and Spider Veins
Say Hello to Beautiful, Healthy Legs!
Up to half of all women may be affected by abnormal veins, along with many men. Doctors Gayla Sylvain and Noellemarie Barrera have undergone extensive phlebology training and offer advanced vein closure treatments performed in the office including Endovenous Radiofrequency Ablation, VenaSeal Closure System, and ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy. These procedures can help your unsightly, unhealthy leg veins become a thing of the past.
Symptoms of venous reflux disease can include unsightly bulging veins or fine purple veins seen on the skin, but can also cause ongoing discomfort that leads to decreased activity and increased disability. These include:
- Aching
- Heaviness of legs
- Fatigued or tired legs
- Restless leg feeling (bugs crawling at night while in bed usually relieved by moving legs)
- Leg cramps
- Leg swelling
- Redness or purple color changes of the skin
- Skin ulcers of the lower legs that do not heal.
If you have concerns about unsightly leg veins, or are experiencing ongoing leg pain, call today to schedule your consultation!
What To Expect
You will first see one of our medical providers who will collect your medical history and perform a physical exam. Then you will undergo an ultrasound to check for venous reflux. After that, you will review the ultrasound and make a treatment plan with one of the doctors.
Venous Disease
CVI EXPLAINED (CHRONIC VENOUS INSUFFICIENCY)
Healthy leg veins have valves that keep blood flowing to the heart. Chronic venous insufficiency develops when the valves stop working properly and allow blood to flow backward (i.e. reflux) and pool in the lower leg veins. If chronic venous insufficiency is left untreated, symptoms can worsen over time.
Chronic venous insufficiency may cause the following symptoms in your legs:
- Varicose veins
- Aching
- Swelling
- Cramping
- Heaviness or tiredness
- Itching
- Open skin sores
- Restlessness
CHRONIC VENOUS INSUFFICIENCY
CVI, one of the underlying causes of venous ulcers, is a potentially serious and progressive medical condition. Symptoms can worsen over time if left untreated.
